Getting Your Littles Summer Ready

summer ready liv price millie price swimsuits children products must haves

Summer is finally here! Spending time by the pool in the sunshine is our favorite place to be, although making sure the kids have everything they need can definitely be a chore! I have done a lot of online searching and shopping to find the best items for our girls and wanted to share my finds with you! Here are fifteen products that will get your littles summer ready:

Swim Suits:
Cute swim suits are a must for the kiddos in summer. I tend to do most of my suit shopping from Nordstrom, but recently ordered the girls the cutest suits from Amazon! Millie’s skin is very sensitive, so I ordered her a neutral color rashguard shirt to throw over any suit.

1. Hope & Henry One Piece / 2. Liyamiee One Piece / 3. Rugged Butts Two Piece/ 4. RuggedButts Swim Trunks

5. Rashguard Shirt

Life Vest: Splash About Vest (6)
A lot of us use life vests in the pool when our little ones are not completely confident in the water. We were using the girls boat life vests, but I felt like it was impairing Liv’s ability to really learn to swim. I found these low profile life vests, which makes swimming in the pool a lot more comfortable.

Cover Up: Pottery Barn Kids Cover Up (7)

Swimming Away From Home : Wet/Dry Bags (8)
Because of the girls sensitive skin, we try to get the wet clothes off ASAP after swimming. If you are out and about, then these wet/dry bags are so nice to keep everything else from getting wet,

Water Bottle: Yeti (9)
Avoid plastic water bottles while outside in the sun. The sun heats up the plastic which then can leach chemicals and toxins in to the water.

Towel: Pottery Barn Kids Towel (10)
I love these towels because you can personalize them which if you have kids you know how nice it is to have their names on anything/everything to help from getting lost.

Sunscreen: When buying sunscreen for the kiddos or yourself you want to avoid sunscreens that have Oxybenzone (also seen as benzophenone-3) Octonoxate, parabens, phthalates, retinal palmitate and frangrence.

11. Think Baby is our go to, but I know a lot of you mamas like the clear spray sunscreen, and I feel ya! It feels like a chore rubbing in those white creams that you can never seem to fully rub in. So for other options we like Alba Botanica sunscreen (this is what use on ourselves) and Babo Botanicals is also a good option. Remember, when using spray sunscreen, you want to avoid your little ones inhaling the spray which can be tough when you are giving them a good spray down. I always have the girls look in the opposite direction of where I am spraying, I try to spray close to the body and I never spray their face, I always spray in my hand then rub it in their face.

NOTE: if your little does get a burn, be careful before using Aloe lotion, many of them contain artificial colors, fragrance and phthalates.

Water Shoes: We had to get these for the girls because the concerts around my parents pool can get very hot! I searched and searched for some neutral colored ones and finally found these:

Swimming Pool: MinniDip Inflatable (14)
Before you just buy any old blow up swimming pool, take a look at these, they are so cute!

Goggles: Ones that don’t pull hair! (15)
My girlfriend gifted us these a few summers back and they were a game changer!! If you have girls, you definitely need these!

I’m sure there will be other products throughout the summer that I pick up for them as well and will definitely let you know if we like them, but we are really enjoying these products right now! We may still be separated from most of the world, but that doesn’t mean our summer can’t be loads of fun! Let me know what you’re doing with your kiddos this summer to keep them occupied and enjoying the summer sun - I’d love some more ideas!

Much Love,
