Jamaica Getaway - Family Vacation Recap Via the Camera Roll

Oh my gosh, what a vacation we had! It, of course, went by way too fast but so glad we went and got a little sun, even if it was only for a couple days. We traveled with the Petry family, which made the vacation that much better. I see a lot more friend vacations in our future! I don’t have too much to report back on, since we didn’t do much other than relax and eat, but I will share some photos and details on where we stayed.

Where we stayed:

So many of you were interested in where we stayed. We ended up renting a house using the VRBO app. I had used the AirB&B app many times in the past, before kids, and I used VRBO for the first time this last summer in Hawaii. I quickly realized this is the only way to do vacations when you have small kids.

I know a lot of you mentioned you were nervous to use this type of site, but we have yet to have any issues! The actual homes have always matched the photos and it is always a good idea to pick a home that has a lot of reviews, and obviously good ones, haha! Sites or apps that I would trust are Air B&B, VRBO and Luxury Retreats. Don’t be turned off on any of these in terms of pricing, Luxury Retreats sounds fancy (and it is) but if you are traveling with a group or a few other couples when you break price down by rooms it is most of the time significantly cheaper than a hotel would be.

So, for our trip to Jamaica we used VRBO and went with this home here. We shared it with the Petry family, who have 3 kids and my sister also came along to help out with the kids. We all fit more than comfortably in the home.

If you take a look you will see that this house came with a staff, which was a first for us, but I guess is common on that island. We were joking on our first day, we thought it was so awkward and kept trying to do everything ourselves, but kept getting in trouble from the staff, haha! It didn’t take long for all of us to get use the extra help and the kids had no issues asking Carol, the butler, for another batch of piña coladas. The staff included a chef which was a GAME CHANGER! On our trip to Hawaii this last summer I had to do meal planning, did the grocery shopping when we arrived and then cooked all of our meals (with the help from the family), but a lot of time that didn’t feel like much of a vacation. This time around it felt like the best vacation ever! Not only did we have a chef, but it was some of the best food we have ever had!!!! Julie and I even even cornered the chef the last day to raid her recipes and even got her phone number, haha! After I try some of the recipes out I will for sure post!

Other than that, I will mention we had no idea what to expect for safety. Our home was gated, in between two large resorts, and someone from the staff stayed with us each night. Just something to note if you are traveling to a different country and renting a home.

What we did:

Literally, all we did was lay by the pool, play on the beach and eat! One day we did get rain, so we went to the Hard Rock Beach club next door for lunch to do something, but was nothing exciting nor something I would recommend.

Shop The Look

Our bathing suits from the week were from Infamous Swimwear You can use code AngelaPrice10 to get 10% off at checkout.

I am wearing the Candice NO 2. One Piece in small (I have the shortest torso in the world so with one pieces I usually have to size down). And the girls are wearing the Mini Me Candice one piece, Millie in size 0 and Liv in size 6. They are great at helping with sizing, I would suggest reaching out on Instagram to get them to help you find the right size. You also see the girls wearing matching Navy Polka Dot Surfsuit which has the CUTEST ruffles on the bum.

Then we brought along some cute little outfits I ordered from Amazon right before we left

Muslin Rose Dress / Tank Top and Bloomers / Romper Set / Ruffle Romper / Cotton Nightgown

Lastly, the evenings got a little chilly so I was happy I brought along my camo Aries set you can find here. In the picture I am wearing a XS top and a Medium bottom because thats what they had in store. Ideally I would be a small in both.
