The Millie Who Stole Christmas

Our little Millie turns three in a couple of days!

I am really learning to love these December birthdays!!! Last year, we waited and celebrated with a New Year’s Eve party, which we all loved. To switch it up this year, we did it a week before Christmas and decided on the Grinch theme - which was so much fun!

I tried my best to keep the party as stress-free as possible for me, which was nice. I outsourced so much of the party actually, that the morning of the party the kids and I decided to take to Pinterest to add some themed food. We had so much fun trying out different ideas. Keeping it simple, we ordered pizza for the kids: “roast beast and pineapple pizza” and I made a charcuterie board for the adults. It was delicious!

PARTY ACTIVITIES:

I found these free printable Grinch faces on Google for the kids to color and make into little masks. We also played Pin the Heart on the Grinch using the free printable here and then bought simple little heart stickers from Walmart.

PARTY DECOR:

I left it up to the girls at Sparkle Parties. I have used them the consistently for the last year or so for all of our special occasions and I just adore them! This was the first time I had them come in and do the full set up, which I am so happy I did. December birthdays can be tough and I wanted to avoid any added stress, so I left it all up to them. They killed it!

Millie’s birthday cake was a hard one for me. The only ones I could find on Pinterest were way too over the top and since we were going all out on the decor I wanted to keep the cake minimal, but still on theme. So I went with one of our local favorites, Table Sucree and all I said was please make me a Grinch cake that isn’t tacky and she delivered this beauty! I was BLOWN away! I can’t wait to get a picture up on Pinterest to show people (like me) a prettier option!

Needless to say, when everything was set up and we began digging into the food and activities - our whole family had a great day! Millie absolutely loved her party and as a mama, that makes any amount of stress worth it. I hope this gives some of you inspiration for a December birthday or holiday party - I think it would be a big hit for any age!

Much Love,
