Pregnancy Skincare Routine With Clarins

angela price clarins sponsored skin care

Our bodies go through a lot while pregnant and that shows up differently for everyone, including post-pregnancy skin conditions. Depending on when your hormones start to rebalance (taking in to account breastfeeding), you could end up with a host of issues like dehydration, congestion, breakouts, uneven pigmentation, puffiness, and dark circles.

Try not to change up your skin routine too much right after baby. You want to give your skin time to rebalance on its own. Due to hormones, your skin could react differently than it usually would to specific products, so you need to be careful. I will keep to my usual skin routine, which I will share below. The only thing I have recently added is eye cream. I am already noticing bags under my eyes and puffiness, so I started incorporating Clarins Total Eye Lift. I know those issues will only get worse once the baby arrives, so I plan on just integrating it for the foreseeable future. Clarins Total Eye Lift is suitable for all ages and addresses puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles, and even firmness. I have not used it long enough to be able to comment on the fine lines and wrinkles, but other day I did only apply it to one eye to compare and noticed that right away it helped with the puffiness and the one eye looked more open than the other. I also like the fact that its formula is made with plant extracts of 94% from natural origins such as cassie wax and organic harungana. The eco-designed bottle is made from 25% recycled glass. which is 100% recyclable and that’s great, too!

My Morning Skin Routine:

  • wash my face with a botanical cleansing oil

  • apply an all-natural firming and hydration oil

  • apply Clarins Total Eye Lift

  • apply moisturizer

You want to be conscious of how you are applying these products, as well. Make sure to massage your face (and body) every day, especially post-pregnancy. It will encourage circulation, stimulate the lymphatic system and awaken your complexion.

For a facial massage, I use techniques I learned from this video.

For eyes, I like using techniques from this video to get rid of puffy eyes. I have no problem massaging directly with the Clarins Total Eye Lift, but as she suggests in the video, you can add a little bit of oil to help with movement if needed. Also note that Clarins has its own manual application method to boost the efficacy of the Total Eye Lift. You can find it here.

A 15 minute face massage is not realistic for me on a regular basis, so I will do the full face massage during my weekly at-home facial. On a daily basis, I really take no more than 60 seconds for the face and eye massage and apply my Total Eye Lift like the video here.

There are other ways you can help your skin look its best and help your hormones balance, such as keeping a healthy diet. Yes, this means lots of fruits and veggies and a lot of water!
