Cook It

Hey guys. Hope you guys have a great start to the week. My parents are in town visiting, so it is nice to have the company with the hubby off on a long road trip. Life seems to be getting busier and busier as Liv is getting older, so it is nice having some extra help. On that same note, I have been using the ingredient/recipe delivery service, Cook It for the past month to make preparing dinners each nice a little easier. I wanted to go ahead and put a blog post together about the experience.

or those of you who do not know what Cook It is, it's essentially getting everything you need to prepare dinners for your family delivered right to your doorstep. So you get all the ingredients you need to go along with the recipes they give you. So it takes away the need to meal plan and grocery shop, but you are still doing the actual cooking for your family, pretty neat huh?

Overall I have loved using the service. I found it especially great timing for me because I was a bit of a recipe rut. I was cooking the same meals over and over again; it was getting pretty dull. With the service, I am trying new recipes, and using ingredients that I usually never cook with, so it has been a lot of fun trying all these new things out.

Not every meal has been our favorite, but everything has been good enough to eat for sure! And we have gotten a few recipes that we will now be in the normal routine.
I have gotten a lot of questions about portions and kids so I wanted to address those quickly. The portions are a little on the small side I would say, but I do feed a hockey player, so they probably eat more than an average person! I feel like the portions are perfect for the baby and me, but Carey will usually eat two. So keep that in mind when deciding on your portions. As for kids, a lot of the recipes I would say are not kid friendly, but I can always put something together for Liv from the meal. So maybe I won't put the sauce on, or I will just give her the protein portion with a side of veggies or something. I have yet had to make a completely separate meal for Liv, so I think you could easily make it work for any kid.

Much Love,
