Happy Tuesday guys! We are off to Lake Tahoe today. I have never been but have always wanted to go, so when the hubby was invited to play in the American Century Championship golf tournament, we decided to make it a little family trip. He will busy with golf the entire time, but I plan on getting out and doing some exploring. We are bringing the baby along so I won't be able to take part in a lot of the outdoor activities that I would normally want to do but I am sure it will still be fun. Thank you to all of you who gave me recommendations for this trip on my Instagram!
Hey, guys! We are off to Vegas today! The weather in Kelowna has been a bit gloomy, so we are excited about some hot weather! Well, I shouldn't say we, I am excited. The little Canadian hubby is probably going to melt in the 115-degree weather. I picked a long sleeve dress for the NHL Awards, so I am probably going to be regretting that real quick! I am excited to see what Carey ends up wearing; he has two suits from Sartorialto, one is a bit more flashy, so I am hoping he chooses that one!
Anyways, to get ready for the awards I got a spray tan. My email is always loaded with questions about fake tanning, so I wanted to do yet another post on the subject.

Hi, guys! I hope everyone ended up having a wonderful Valentine's Day. The hubby had this week off from hockey, so we have been enjoying some down time. It was tempting to head somewhere warmer for the break but in the end we decided to just stick around here and relax. It is back to reality tomorrow, though!
Anyways, today's post I am talking about makeup. I feel like the last few months I have been wearing a lot of makeup, too much makeup. With Youtube and Pinterest it is easy to see some new makeup trick that you want to try, and the next thing you know you are wearing a pound of makeup. I think that is fine for special events, but I definitely prefer a more natural look. Especially now that summer is in sight (kind of) I will be making a move to lighter makeup.

Today's post I am talking skin care. When I turned 25, I started using anti-wrinkle eye cream and told myself when I hit 30 I would get serious about my skin care routine. Well, I finally turned the big dirty 30, so it was time to invest some time and money into my skin.
I started by getting my very first facial...yes my first one! Why did I wait so long?! I got it done at Skins Clinique in Dix30 around December. I now go in every few weeks for a facial, and I already see the change in my skin. They also helped me get set up with a custom skin care routine to address my specific skin issues which I will share in today's post.
Hey there! So all of you have been so kind complementing my skin and makeup and wanting tips. I am not an expert in this area what so ever!! But I will go ahead and share my routine and what works for me.
So today I will cover skin care and later in a week or two I will post my makeup routine and some of my go to products.
First things first, cleaning your skin. There is not a certain face wash that I live by and I really don't see a difference when I change what I use. I do however see a huge difference when I use my Clarisonic. I don't use it nightly but usually at least once a week. This is the one I use here.
I have been using SkinCeuticals for quite awhile now and I am loving it. I am playing with their different products but I really love their Hydrating Masque and the Serum 10. I'm excited to try even more of their products, I will be sure to keep you posted on ones I like.
Face Masks are something I have really gotten in to over the past year. I started by using just the under eye ones, when I saw how great those worked I moved to the whole face. I now do a face mask about once a week, and under eye masks whenever needed (which is often these days. haha)
I love the Victoria Radford face masks. She is out of Toronto but can order online here. They are $18 each, which can get a little pricey if you are doing them often. So I save my Radford ones for after traveling or before a big event. Other weeks I use cheaper masks. These ones here are good, you will defiantly notice the difference between these and the Radford ones...but better than nothing!
When people tell me my skin looks flawless, my first reaction is 'are you nuts?!' I have my fare share of skin problems and blemishes but I do find when I use self tanner it helps hide all the imperfections. I am huge on spray tans and self tanning at home. I am a white girl through and through and it takes a lot for me to get a natural tan. So most of the time I rely on self tanners. It is sooooooo important to find a good self tanner for your face though, you don't want to add to those blemishes! For the past few months I have been using Sunna Tans 'Keep Me Golden' tanner and I have been loving it.
Finding the right products if half the battle but you also need to know how to apply it. I am going to do a post in the near future dedicated to self tanning, so if you want more information keep an eye out for that!
Don't forget about that smile!
There are a few other tips or tricks I use to get a clean/bright look.
I don't think there is anything more attractive then a great smile. So my teeth are something that I really try to take good care of. To get a nice white smile I use teeth whitening. I use to use those crest white strips from Walmart but found that they hurt my gums! I finally gave an at home whitening kit a try and so happy I did. I have been using a SunnaSmile kit and it is getting me those pearly whites with out the gum pain!
This is something most people don't think of but makes a big difference in my opinion. I try to use eye drops every morning...I can always notice when I am looking over my photos when I did not use clear eyes. Having clear white eyes really helps them pop and stand out.
Hydration and Humidifier
You can only do so much when you are working with dull dry skin. So do yourself a favor and stay hydrated, I think that is one of the best things you can do for your skin. I also keep a little humidifier right by the bed that I use every night to keep my skin from getting dry.
Hope this helps answer some of the questions! Like I said I will get in more detail about my make up routine and tanning routine in the next couple weeks!
Lots of Love,
